The film starts out pretty decent for a made-for-cable film. There is the typical story of boy learning father was killed and trains in martial arts to grow up and begin his quest for revenge. While the story is typical for a martial arts action film, execution is the important factor. There is some obvious wirework in the film but lead actor Tod Fennell, who holds a black belt in Shotokan Karate, looks to hold his own. The problem, however, is that he doesn’t really convey the action hero look for this type of film. His performance seems a little wooden and doesn’t really bring much to the table with the exception of his martial arts skills.
